Lofton traded to Phillies

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- The New York Yankees dealt outfielder Kenny Lofton to Philadelphia Friday for pitcher Felix Rodriguez.

The Phillies also received cash considerations.

Lofton has been in the majors since 1991 and Philadelphia will be his ninth team. He batted .275 last season.

Much of Lofton's career has been spent in Cleveland and was a member of the All-Star team five times while with the Indians.
