NFL: Carolina 21, Tampa Bay 14

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Jake Delhomme's 40-yard scoring pass to Keary Colbert with 20 seconds remaining Sunday allowed Carolina to escape with a 21-14 win over Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay kicker Martin Gramatica had one field goal attempt blocked and missed two others -- one of which from 37 yards would have given the Buccaneers the lead late in the game.

After that miss, Carolina drove 73 yards in five plays to the winning touchdown. Delhomme threw four times on the drive and completed all of them.

Delhomme's winning throw to Colbert was underthrown, but Colbert came back to catch it at the eight-yard line, shed a would-be tackle and trotted across the goal line.

An eight-yard pass from Brian Griese to Michael Pittman inside the five-minute mark of the fourth quarter tied the game at 14-14.

Both Tampa Bay and Carolina are 4-7, but if St. Louis loses to Green Bay Monday night, the Buccaneers and Panthers will be just one game behind in the chase for the second NFC wild card berth.
