Stephen Dodd leads China Open

JIANGSU, China, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Stephen Dodd shot a 2-under 70 Saturday to continue a three-stroke lead at 8-under 208 through three rounds of the Volvo China Open.

Thomas Bjorn and Soren Hansen, both from Denmark, share second place at 5under 211. Bjorn had a 68 and Hansen a 70 on Saturday. Welshman Bradley Dredge shot 70 to move to 4-under and fourth place.

Dodd, a 38-year-old Welchman, opened his round with four straight pars. He climbed to minus-eight with back-to-back birdies from the fifth. Hedropped back to five-under when he triple-bogeyed the par-four seventh after his second shot found water.

Dodd closed with a birdie at the last hole to maintain his three-shot lead.

Barry Lane and Simon Yates each shot 70 to move to 3-under 213. They are tied there by Joon Chung (72), Mark Foster (71) and Gregory Havret (67).
