NBA: Minnesota 99, New Orleans 94

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Eddie Griffin scored 23 points saturday to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 99-94 win over the New Orleans Hornets who haven't won this season.

The Hornets extended their franchise-worst start to 0-8 in the longest losing streak for the Hornets in 11 years.

Griffin connected on 10-of-14 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Minnesota had only eight turnovers as it improved to 5-3.

Kevin Garnett added 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for the Timberwolves, who never trailed after scoring eight of the game's first 10 points.

Lee Nailon led the Hornets with 21 points.
