PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Phillies re-signed right-hander Cory Lidle.
Lidle is slated to earn $3 million in 2005 and $3.3 million in 2006, plus performance bonuses.
The 32-year-old veteran, who was signed to the new contract Tuesday, was obtained in August in a trade with Cincinnati. He was 5-2 with a 3.90 earned run average in 10 starts for the Phillies and 12-12 with a 4.90 ERA overall.
Lidle's three shutouts tied for the major league lead and his five complete games tied for second in the majors.
Lidle is 57-51 with a 4.52 ERA over parts of seven seasons.
"Once I got traded over to Philadelphia, it took my game to the next level," Lidle said. "I knew I was capable of doing more than I was doing in Cincinnati."
