BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Winsome Frazier scored 18 points Friday night in leading No. 14 Mississippi State to a 55-48 win over Birmingham-Southern.

Mississippi State moved into the semifinals of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, which will be held in New York Thursday night.

The Bulldogs were without star forward Lawrence Roberts, who was suspended for the first game of the season Thursday night and who sat out Friday evening's contest with a broken nose.

Birmingham Southern owned a 38-37 lead in the second half before Mississippi State went on an 11-0 run.
