Hewitt and Henman advance in Paris

PARIS, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Two of the top men tennis players in the world, Lleyton Hewitt and Tim Henman, had second-round wins Tuesday at the $3.092 million BNP Paribas Masters.

Hewitt, an Australian, beat French junior Gael Monfils, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Monfils is the No. 1 ranked junior, having won the boys' titles at the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year.

England's Henman, the defending Paris champion, defeated Thailand's Paradorn Srichaphan, 6-3, 6-4.

Andrai Pavel posted a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 triumph over American and Olympic silver medalist Mardy Fish, while Germany' Tommy Haas posted a 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) win over Belgian Xavier Malisse.
