Redskins Sean Taylor faces DUI charge

WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Rookie defensive back Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins was arrested early Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.

The Washington Post reported that, according to law enforcement officials, Taylor, the team's No. 1 pick in the 2004 draft, was charged by Virginia State Police with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take an alcohol blood or breath test.

Taylor was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond after being taken to the Fairfax County detention center, where he was booked, and faces a Dec. 1 court hearing, the newspaper said.

Taylor was absent from practice on Thursday. Team officials had no immediate comment.
