Former NFL player Mark Ingram sentenced

FLINT, Mich., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Former NFL receiver Mark Ingram, already imprisoned for a parole violation, has been sentenced to a year in jail for stealing a credit card in Michigan.

Ingram, 39, who played for the New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles, pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny by false pretenses to defraud, the Flint Journal reported Monday.

The card was stolen in 2003 from the Copper Ridge Golf Course in Davison Township, the newspaper said. A charge that Ingram stole a golf club was dismissed as part of a plea agreement, the report said.

Ingram previously served a six-month federal sentence for possession of more than $3,000 in counterfeit cash. He was in a federal prison for violating terms of his parole in another case, court officials said.

Ingram played for the Giants in the 1991 Super Bowl. He retired from pro football in 1996.
