TEMPE, Ariz., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Andrew Walter passed for six touchdowns and 415 yards Saturday to lead No. 23 Arizona State to a 48-42 victory over UCLA.
Walter completed 25 of 51 passes and connected with Derek Hagan on touchdown throws of 79, 13 and 46 yards for the Sun Devils (6-1,3-1), who have won six of their first seven games en route to their best start since 1996.
Hagan had five catches for 160 yards, while Terry Richardson caught seven passes for 159 yards and a touchdown.
Jesse Ainsworth kicked field goals of 36 and 26 yards and as Rudy Burgess and Zach Miller each caught a touchdown passes for Arizona State.
Drew Olson of UCLA completed 30 of 44 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns but also threw four interceptions.
Maurice Drew and Manual White Jr. each had a rushing touchdown and Justin Medlock kicked a 40-yard and a 48-yard field goal.
