Four star players withdraw from Madrid

MADRID, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Four of the world's top-six players have pulled out of next week's Madrid Masters event, including No. 1 Roger Federer and No. 2 Andy Roddick.

Federer and the former world No. 1 Roddick were joined on the absentee list by world No. 3 Lleyton Hewitt and No. 6 Carlos Moya, who have also enjoyed stays atop the world rankings. The four stars currently account for the top- four spots in the ATP Champions Race.

Federer cited fatigue. The other three have various injuries.
