NEW YORK, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- The scheduled start of the 2004-05 National Hockey League season came and went Wednesday with no games being played.
No negotiating talks are scheduled between players and owners after a league-imposed lockout was imposed.
Among the seven games that were to have been played Wednesday night was an Eastern Conference finals rematch between Tampa Bay and Philadelphia.
Lightning fans, therefore, were unable to see their team raise its Stanley Cup banner.
