SPRING, Texas, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Wayne Levi, a winner last week on the Champions Tour, shot an 8-under 64 Friday to tie Walter Hall for the lead at the Adminstaff Small Business Classic.
Jim Dent was alone in third after firing a 66.
Levi led after every round last week for his second win on the elder circuit. He birdied the first three holes Friday as well as the first two on the back nine.
It was his lowest round since joining the Champions Tour two years ago.
"Of all the tournaments I've won, I haven't done well the week after," said Levi, a 12-time winner on the PGA Tour. "It's hard to shoot bad with the way I've been hitting the ball. I'm putting a little better now, too."
Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Jim Thorpe and John Harris shared fourth place at 67. Craig Stadler, seeking his fourth victory in as many starts, shot a 69.
