CHICAGO, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Columbus clinched the top speed in the Eastern Conference Wednesday ight with a 1-0 win over Chicago on a goal by Edson Buddle.
Columbus extended its unbeaten streak to 16 games, the longest in league history.

Buddle's goal came in the 59th minute when he hammered home a free kick from just outside the penalty area.
The Crew has not lost since June 26, a 2-1 setback against Colorado.
