NFL: St. Louis 24, San Francisco 14

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Mark Bulger and Marshall Faulk stepped to the fore Sunday night as they led the St. Louis Rams to a 24-14 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Bulger completed 17-of-25 passes for 186 yards and a score, Faulk rushed for 121 yards, Isaac Bruce had 100 yards receiving, and three reserves scored touchdowns for the Rams (2-2).

The Rams scored two touchdowns in a 38 second span of the first quarter. They took the lead with 1:51 left to play in the first period when Joey Goodspeed scored from two yards out.

After the ensuing kickoff, San Francisco quarterback Tim Rattay fumbled, Leonard Little recovered, and Bulger hit Shaun McDonald on a six-yard scoring toss with 1:13 left in the first.

On the Rams next two possessions, Bulger directed 79 and 91 yard drives as St. Louis went up 24-0 with 29 seconds left in the first half.
