Injury forces Clijsters to drop out

HASSELT, Belgium, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Kim Clijsters injured her wrist Saturday and had to drop out of the Gaz de France Stars tennis tournament.

Clijsters, the second seed who was playing in her first tournament in more than four months, lost the first set 6-4 before quitting in the second with the score tied at 2-2.

Russian Elena Bovina, the third seed, advanced to the tournament final where she will meet top-seeded Russian Elena Dementieva for the title.

Dementieva, the 2004 U.S. and French Open runner-up, defeated Italy's Maria Elena Camerin, 6-3, 6-3 in Saturday's other semifinal.
