ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez drove in three runs Thursday in helping Texas to a 6-3 win over Anaheim that knocked the Angels back into a tie for the division lead.

The Rangers, who surprisingly challenged for the division crown this year, received a standing ovation from the home crowd at the close of the team's final home game of the season.

Texas players took a lap around the field and shook hands with fans after the game.

Anaheim began the day with a one-game lead in the American League West, but its loss combined with Oakland's win over Seattle left the Angels and Athletics tied for the top spot.

They will play a three-game series in Oakland beginning Friday.
