Frazar ties for Southern Farm Bureau lead

MADISON, Miss., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Harrison Frazar shot a 7-under 65 Thursday to tie Glen Day and John Senden for the lead after one round of the Southern Farm Bureau Classic.

Brothers Deane and Brenden Pappas were at 66 and tied for fourth with Loren Roberts, Bill Glasson, Patrick Sheehan and David Sutherland.

Frazar played the front nine in 31 shots with an eagle at the par-five fifth being the highlight.

"I'm not paying too much attention to scoreboards right now," Frazar said. "The greens were nice and soft. They rolled really well early on, but as the day went on they got a little bumpy."

Defending champion John Huston shot a 3-under 69.
