Winslow goes on injured reserve

CLEVELAND, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- The rookie season of Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow II came to an end Wednesday when he underwent a second surgery on his broken leg.

Winslow suffered a broken right fibula in a game against Dallas on Sept. 19. He was the sixth overall choice in this year's draft.

Winslow, 21, will be in a cast for two to three weeks and will then be fitted with a walking boot. He is expected to be ready for next year's training camp.

He became the fifth Cleveland player to be put on injured reserve this season, joining defensive end Courtney Brown, linebacker Brant Boyer, linebacker Ben Taylor and offensive lineman Chad Beasley.
