Major League Baseball President Bob Watson also announced that Hermanson has been fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing at Houston second baseman Jeff Kent.

Hermanson hit the former Giants second baseman with a pitch after warnings were already issued during the Giants-Astros game in San Francisco on Sept. 23.
Hermanson has filed an appeal and the suspension will remain on hold until a appeal process has been completed.
