Orlando Cabrera had three hits for the Red Sox, who at least will capture the AL wild card spot and still have a chance to catch the New York Yankees for the top spot in the AL East. Boston trails the Yankees by three games with six to play.

Boston starter Bronson Arroyo (10-9) got the win with 6 1/3 innings of six-hit ball. The righthander yielded two runs.

Tampa Bay starter Scott Kazmir was ejected in the fourth for hitting Ramirez and Kevin Millar. Kazmir yielded just two hits, walked one and struck out six in 3 1/3 innings.
