COL FB: Florida 28, Tennessee 30

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The Tennessee Volunteers won 30-28 over the Florida Gators in a Southeastern Conference battle at Neyland Stadium, in Knoxville, Tenn., Saturday.

James Wilhoit kicked a 50-yard field goal in the closing seconds to give the No. 13 ranked Tennessee the win.

Erik Ainge completed 16-of-26 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns for the Volunteers (2-0, 1-0), while Brent Schaeffer was 3-of-4 for 40 yards and ran seven times for 38 yards in sharing the quarterback duties with Ainge.

Chris Leak had three touchdown passes for No. 9 ranked Florida and finished 21-of-30 passing for 280 yards. Chad Jackson had a reception for an 81-yard touchdown for the Gators (1-1, 0-1). O.J. Small had eight receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown for Florida.

The crowd of 109,061 set a new stadium attendance record and students at Tennessee had raised money for their rival Florida team, because of Hurricane Ivan.
