COL FB: Virginia 51, Akron 0

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Wali Lundy ran for 142 yards and three touchdowns Saturday and Virginia held Akron to 84 total yards as the 12th-ranked Cavaliers swept to a 51-0 win.

Michael Johnson added 102 rushing yards. Marques Hagans completed 16-of-25 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns as Virginia (3-0) got off to its best start since the Cavs reeled off five straight wins to begin the 1999 campaign.

Heath Miller caught both of Hagans' TD throw and finished with six receptions for 54 yards.

Virginia rolled up 522 yards total offense, including 326 on the ground.

Zips quarterback Charlie Frye, who threw for 336 yards as a sophomore against Virginia two seasons ago, was 10-of-23 for 72 yards and was intercepted twice.
