SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Bart Bryant shot a course-record 10-under 60 Saturday for a 16-underpar 194 to take a three-stroke lead after three rounds of the Texas Open.
Hunter Mahan, the 2002 U.S. Amateur runner-up, had an eight-under 62 to move into second place at 13-under-par 197.
Joe Ogilvie, a four-time winner on the Nationwide Tour, tied the old course record as he shot a nine-under 61, He shares third place at minus-12 with, Pat Perez (63), Todd Fischer (63), Tim Clark (64), Patrick Sheehan (65), Scott Simpson (66), Ryan Palmer (67) and J.J. Henry (67).
LaCantera is known for its low scoring. Last year, Tommy Armour III set a new 54-hole record of 189 and closed with a Sunday 65 to break the 72-hole mark of 257 set by Mike Souchak in 1955. Armour's 72-hole 254 also set a new PGA Tour scoring record.
