Ancic reaches semifinals

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Wimbledon semifinalist Mario Ancic of Croatia moved into the semifinals Friday at the International Tennis Championships.

The third-seeded Ancic defeated Denmark's Kenneth Carlsen, 6-2, 7-5.

Ancic, 20, is seeking his first ATP title and will appear in his fourth semifinal of the year. He will meet Brazilian Ricardo Mello on Saturday as Mello came from behind to beat Frenchman Jerome Golmard 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 6-3.
