BUCHAREST, Romania, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Defending champion David Sanchez of Spain was knocked out of the Romanian Open Wednesday by Jose Acasuso.
The Argentine player, who was runner-up in the tournament in 2002, defeated the eighth-seeded Sanchez 6-3, 6-0 in a second-round match.

Fourth-seeded Igor Andreev of Russia advanced with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 win over German Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Other winners included Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu and Spaniard Felix Mantilla.
