NFL: Seattle 21, New Orleans 7

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Shaun Alexander caught a touchdown pass and ran for two scores Sunday to lead Seattle to a 21-7 win at New Orleans.

Alexander, who gained 135 yards on 28 carries, scored on a 14-yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck in the second quarter for the Seahawks' first touchdown of the new campaign.

He added scoring runs later in the second and fourth quarter, but also suffered a knee sprain late in the contest.

The Seattle defense held the Saints' Deuce McAllister to 57 yards on 16 attempts.
