Titans' Calmus listed as questionable

MIAMI, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Middle linebacker Rocky Calmus of the Tennessee Titans is questionable for the season opener Saturday night against the Dolphins at Miami.

The two-year veteran continues to be bothered by the back spasms and tightness that hindered him throughout training camp.

The 6-3, 238-pound Calmus, a third-round pick by the Titans in the 2002 draft, has 47 career tackles along with one sack and one interception. With the departure of end Jevon Kearse to free agency, he could be a cornerstone of the Titans' defense this season.

"The soreness I can deal with, it's just the weakness," he told the Tenneseean. "It's a game, so everything is going to be faster, so I don't want to be slower."

If Calmus is unavailable, his replacements are third-year pro Brad Kassel and rookie John Leake, according to the team's depth chart.
