Harrington leads German Masters

COLOGNE, Germany, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Padraig Harrington shot a 6-under-par 66 Thursday to lead the German Masters by one stroke after the first round.

Alex Cejka shot 67 and Paul Casey, Nick O'Hern, Greg Owen, Raphael Jacquelin and Louis Oosthuizen tied at 68.

Jose Maria Olazabal, Graeme McDowell, Anthony Wall, Barry Lane, Gary Murphy and Rolf Muntz were another stroke back at 69.

Harrington and Casey are among players getting ready for the Ryder Cup next week.

"Obviously, you come here as a warm up," Harrington said. "One eye is definitely on next week. But once you're in contention, it's this week you're thinking about."

Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer was in a group at 1-over 73.
