NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Captain Patrick McEnroe announced Wednesday that Andy Roddick would be on the U.S. Davis Cup team when it competes in the semifinals this month.
Roddick will be joined by Olympic silver medal winner Mardy Fish in the semifinal meeting with Belarus. The matches will take place Sept. 24-26 in Charleston, S.C.
Roddick and Fish will play in the singles matches while brothers Bob and Mike Bryan will play doubles.
"I'm looking forward to a great week in Charleston, where I'm confident that our guys will be up to the task of defeating Belarus," said McEnroe.
The United States-Belarus winner will play either France or Spain in the Davis Cup Finals in December.
