MLB: Chicago Cubs 9, Montreal 1

MONTREAL, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Aramis Ramirez hit a pair of two-run homers Monday to power the Chicago Cubs to a 9-1 victory over the Montreal Expos.

Carlos Zambrano (13-8) gave up one run on four hits and struck out five in eight innings for the Cubs, who lead in the NL wild card standings.

Derrek Lee, Mark Grudzielanek and Michael Barrett also homered for Chicago, which missed three games in Florida over the weekend due to Hurricane Frances.

The Cubs built a 7-0 advantage against Expos starter Tony Armas Jr.

With one out in the first, Lee opened the scoring with a his 29th homer of the season. One out later, Moises Alou walked and scored on Ramirez's 28th homer of the season.

Grudzielanek led off the second with his fifth homer to put the Cubs ahead 4-0. They added three more in the third on a double by Alou and home run No. 29 by Ramirez.
