NORTON, Mass., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Vijay Singh shot an eight-under par 63 Saturday and took a two-shot lead over Tiger Woods and two other players in the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Singh stood at 11-under-par 131 for three rounds. Woods, John Rollins and Bill Haas were at 133.
If Singh wins the tournament he becomes the world's No. 1-ranked player, an honor held by Woods for years. Singh also can become No. 1 if Woods does not finish within the top seven.
Woods shot a 68 in the third round.
Singh said he's not concerned about the No. 1 ranking.
"It's not going to affect me one way or the other if I overtake him or not," he said. "Yeah, if I win this tournament, I'll be No. 1, fine. But what would that change for me? I'll go out there next week and do it all over again."
