LINCOLN, Neb., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- The University of Nebraska suspended junior center Richie Incognito indefinitely Wednesday for violations of team rules.
"Unfortunately, I had to indefinitely suspend Richie Incognito for repeated violations of team policies and rules," Coach Bill Callahan said. He would not discuss details.

Incognito was fined $500 last month after a misdemeanor assault conviction.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Incognito was a first team All-Big 12 selection last year. Sophomore Kurt Mann will replace him on the starting offensive line.
The Cornhuskers open the 2004 season Saturday against Western Illinois.
