MLB: Baltimore 7, Texas 6

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Melvin Mora had three hits and four RBI Sunday as the Baltimore Orioles snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 7-6 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Sidney Ponson (9-13) survived seven innings, giving up five runs on 12 hits while striking out seven with no walks. He has won six of his last seven decisions.

Jorge Julio got the last five outs for his 19th save. He came on in the bottom of the eighth inning, with the Orioles nursing a 7-5 lead. Texas had two on with one out.

Chris Young (0-1), a 6-foot-10 righthander, made his second career start Sunday. He allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Orioles. He gave up six hits, walked three and fanned two.

Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with two RBI, leading a Texas lineup in which the top six hitters combined to go 12-for-24.
