MLB: Cleveland 6, Chicago White Sox 3

CLEVELAND, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- C.C. Sabathia struck out 11 over six innings leading Cleveland past the Chicago White Sox, 6-3, Friday night.

Sabathia (10-8) gave up only three hits and Ronnie Belliard hit a three-run homer as the Indians evened this series at one game apiece.

The White Sox were forced to send Jason Grilli to the mound after calling him up from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday night and he struggled throughout. Scheduled starter Freddy Garcia could not go due to soreness in his right forearm.

Offensively for Chicago, Aaron Rowand and Ross Gload had two hits apiece. The Sox have lost seven of nine.
