MLB: St. Louis 10, Atlanta 4

ATLANTA, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Scott Rolen hit a pair of two-run homers Saturday night to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 10-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Rolen became the first player in the National League to eclipse the 100-RBI plateau this season.

Rolen now has 28 home runs and 102 RBI on the season for the Cardinals, who took two of three from the Braves in this battle of National League division leaders.

After Marcus Giles' RBI double in the first inning gave the Braves the lead, the Cardinals used some timely hitting and some sloppy Braves fielding to erupt for six runs in the second inning.

Chipper Jones hit his 19th home run of the season to pull the Braves within six runs in the fourth inning. Albert Pujols hit his 36th homer of the season, a two-run shot in the eighth inning, to cap the scoring.
