MLB: Montreal 6, Houston 5 (12 inn.)

MONTREAL, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Alex Gonzalez homered with two out in the 12th for a tie and Terrmel Sledge hit an RBI single to give Montreal a 6-5 win over Houston Friday night.

Brad Wilkerson doubled twice, homered and finished with four hits for the Expos, who posted their sixth straight victory despite squandering an early four-run lead. Starting pitcher Jon Rauch smacked a two-run homer.

Claudio Vargas (5-4) earned the victory despite surrendering a homer in the top of the 12th.

Carlos Beltran, Jeff Kent and Morgan Ensberg homered for the Astros, who have lost two straight and seven of nine. Kent drove in three runs, while Lance Berkman tripled and doubled.

After Ensberg's homer in the top of the 12th put Houston ahead 5-4, Montreal mounted a two-out rally against Chad Harville (0-2).
