OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Abraham Nunez and John Buck tied a major league record by each smacking a grand slam to lead Kansas City to a 10-3 win over Oakland Friday night.
Mike Wood (2-4) allowed one run on five hits in six innings to snap a four- game losing streak for the Royals. Joe Randa delivered a two-run homer and Mike Sweeney added three hits.

Mark Mulder failed in his bid to become this season's first 16-game winner for the Athletics, who suffered their third straight defeat. Mulder (15-4) absorbed the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits in seven-plus innings.
Kansas City took a 4-0 lead on Nunez's slam in the top of the sixth. Buck's blast came in the eighth.
