Hamilton wins Tundra pole, sets record

NASHVILLE, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Bobby Hamilton Jr. set a track record Friday in capturing the pole for Saturday's Toyota Tundra 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway.

Hamilton drove his Dodge around the 1.333-mile cement oval in a track record 29.808 seconds (160.990 m.p.h.).

The pole victory was the first of Hamilton Jr.'s career. Starting on the front row with the Nashville N native will be David Reutimann (29.968) in the No.17 Toyota.

Row two will consist of Dennis Setzer (30.058) and Matt Crafton (30.088).

Series points leader and father of the pole winner, Bobby Hamilton Sr. will start 15th in the 36-truck field.
