PHOENIX, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Russ Ortiz got his seventh straight victory and Chipper Jones had four RBI as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday, 11-4.
Jones was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and a two-run single for Atlanta, which has won five in a row. Eddie Perez added two homers, finishing 4-for-5 with three RBI. The Braves ended a six-game road trip 5-1 and improved to 17-3 in their last 20 road tilts.
Ortiz (13-6)has not lost since June 20 and became the second 13-game winner in the National League. He lasted 5 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on seven hits.
The Braves continue to lead the NL East by 5 1/2 games over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Koyie Hill went 4-for-4 with his first career RBI for the Diamondbacks, who have dropped four in a row and 23-of-27.
