Stupples regains lead at LPGA Jamie Farr

SYLVANIA, Afghanistan, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Karen Stupples shot a three-under 68 Saturday to regain the lead after the third round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.

Stupples's 54-hole total of eight-under-par 205 has her three shots better than second-place Marilyn Lovander.

Meg Mallon, who shared the 36-hole lead with Angela Jerman, shot 74 to finish with Jeong Jang at four-under-par 209.

Defending champion Se Ri Pak followed at three-under-par 210 where she was tied with Karrie Webb, Lorena Ochoa, Lorie Kane, Brandie Burton, Nancy Scranton and Leta Lindley.

Fresh off her first major title in front of the hometown fans last week at the Women's British Open, Stupples, of England, came out on Thursday and took the opening-round lead with a 65. She had somewhat of a letdown in the second round, but was back in form on Saturday to retake the lead.
