SAN DIEGO, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Mark Loretta got five RBIs plus two home runs Friday to lead San Diego over Pittsburgh, 13-1.
Jake Peavy recorded the win, while Ryan Vogelsong (3-8) got the loss.

Loretta nailed his first homer in the first to put the Padres up 1-0. San Diego then scored four times during the second inning to extend the lead to five runs. Khalil Greene singled in a run and scored another and Loretta doubled home a run during the frame.
San Diego added a six-run sixth inning, highlighted by a two-run single by Peavy and a three-run double by Phil Nevin. Loretta's second homer of the game, a two-run shot in the eighth inning, accounted for the final score.
Pittsburgh's lone run came on an RBI single by Ty Wigginton.
