Houston shortstop suffers broken wrist

HOUSTON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Houston shortstop Adam Everett suffered a fractured left wrist Friday night and will probably miss four to six weeks.

Everett was hit on the wrist by a Claudio Vargas pitch in the fourth inning of Houston's win over Montreal Friday night.

It was immediately known whether Everett would require surgery.

He is batting .272 with eight home runs and 31 RBI.
