ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., July 30 (UPI) -- Josh Towers threw seven shutout innings Friday night as Toronto blanked Tampa Bay, 3-0.

Josh Phelps drove in all three runs with two homers.

Towers (6-3) allowed two hits and struck out four. It was his fourth consecutive victory. Jason Frasor struck out two in the ninth for his 13th save.

John Halama took the loss despite allowing just three runs on eight hits in 7 1/3 innings. Tampa Bay had won its previous three games.

Carlos Delgado led off the fourth with a single and scored on Phelps' 10th homer of the season. Phelps added a solo homer in the sixth.
