SAN DIEGO, July 29 (UPI) -- San Diego scored five runs in the sixth inning and defeated the San Francisco Giants 9-4 Wednesday.
Khalil Greene, Sean Burroughs and Ryan Klesko each drove in two runs and Ramon Hernandez homered for the Padres. Terrence Long batted 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple.

The Padres loaded the bases in the sixth and Burroughs followed with a single and Klesko and Phil Nevin hit doubles for an 8-1 lead.
Right-hander Brian Lawrence (11-7) was the winner and Dustin Hermanson (4-4) took the loss.
The Padres are now 2 1/2 games behind first-place Los Angeles in the National League West, a game ahead of the Giants.
