LOS ANGELES, July 25 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers won 12-2 Saturday over the San Diego Padres in the second game of a three-game set at Dodger Stadium.
Adrian Beltre had a good night, ending 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI.
Shawn Green and Juan Encarnacion also had homers for Los Angeles, while Wilson Alvarez (5-3) got the win, tossing seven innings of one-run, five-hit ball. He struck out five and walked one.
Los Angeles has won three straight and 17 of 19 contests and has been 9-1 since the All-Star break.
"Everyone's on top of the world right now, though we're obviously not going to win the rest of our games this year," said Green. "But this is the best stretch of any team I've ever been on."
Mark Loretta went 3-for-3 for the Padres.
