ATLANTA, July 2 (UPI) -- Nick Green's three-run homer with none out in the 12th inning Friday night gave Atlanta a 6-3 victory over Boston.
Coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees in which they faltered badly in the late innings, the Red Sox struggled again Field.
Manny Ramirez delivered an RBI single in the 10th to give Boston a 3-2 lead, but closer Keith Foulke suffered his third blown save in 16 chances in the bottom of the inning when Green lofted a sacrifice fly.
After the Red Sox left two runners on in the 12th, the Braves wasted little time in wrapping it up.
Green ended things by crushing a 1-1 pitch over the left field wall for his third homer of the season.
