MLB: Arizona 8, San Diego 5

PHOENIX, June 30 (UPI) -- Danny Bautista had a go-ahead double in the seventh Wednesday night as Arizona ended a record skid with an 8-5 win over San Francisco.

Pinch-hitter Quentin McCracken hit a two-run homer in the eighth to help the Diamondbacks overcome four errors. Arizona had lost its previous 11 games.

The longest losing streak in franchise history was marred by horrendous defense as Arizona established itself as a sub-par team in the field. The Diamondbacks nearly gave away a much-needed win against the Padres before getting some late heroics in this one.

Shortstop Tim Olson made a throwing error on Mark Loretta's grounder with one out in the seventh and Brian Giles followed with a double to give San Diego a 5-4 lead.

Arizona erased the miscue in the bottom half, when Roberto Alomar drew a leadoff walk and Steve Finley singled. Bautista doubled into the left-center field gap against Blaine Neal (0-1) to bring home Alomar and Finley for a 6-5 edge.
