MLS: Colorado 3, MetroStars 2

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., June 30 (UPI) -- Jordan Cila scored his first two goals of the season Wednesday night, including the game-winner in the 89th minute, as Colorado edged the MetroStars, 3-2.

Cila started for captain John Spencer, who was serving a red card suspension. He gave Colorado (4-3-6) an early lead in the 13th minute, then struck late to stun the MetroStars (5-5-4).

Antonio de la Torre launched a corner kick that defender Nat Borchers headed down into the box. Cila gained control, spun around and drilled a shot past goalkeeper Johnny Walker.

The Rapids forged a 2-2 tie in the 78th minute on Borchers' first goal of the season. Colorado's Gary Sullivan and the MetroStars' Eddie Pope both leaped to gain control of a loose ball with a header. The ball bounced off one player's shoulder right to Borchers, who put it home.
