PITTSFORD, N.Y., June 27 (UPI) -- Kim Saiki finally claimed her first LPGA Tour victory Sunday, taking advantage of Rosie Jones' collapse to win the Wegmans Rochester LPGA.
Saiki won in her 287th career start, carding a 71 to defeat Jones and Mi Hyun Kim of Korea by four shots. Her 14-under 274 total was the lowest 72-hole score at the tournament since 1994.
A 37-year-old from California, Saiki had four previous runner-up finishes but none since 1998. She had not placed better than 21st in 12 starts this season.
The $225,000 top prize represents more than Saiki ever made in any of her first 11 years on tour.
Saiki started the day a stroke ahead of Jones. With a 74, she finished second for the second time in her last four starts.
Kim shared second with Jones at 10-under 278, two shots better than Brandie Burton, whose 66 was the best round of the day.
